Kraken, the popular crypto exchange, has recently acquired the assets and technology of Capitalise.ai, an innovative startup from Israel known for its natural-language, no-code platform for automating trading strategies across various asset classes. This acquisition aims to bolster Kraken’s Pro platform capabilities, as announced in a press release on Wednesday.
Capitalise.ai, established in 2015, has developed a unique system that allows users to translate everyday text into actionable trading strategies. Their technology enables real-time and historical data analysis across equities, cryptocurrencies, foreign exchange, futures, and options, catering to a wide range of financial institutions.
Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, a Stifel company, served as the financial advisor for Capitalise.ai during the acquisition process, although specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Kraken plans to integrate Capitalise.ai’s features into its Pro platform later this year, with the goal of simplifying advanced trading processes and empowering users to create, test, and automate strategies without the need for coding.
Shannon Kurtas, Kraken’s head of exchange, highlighted the significance of the acquisition by stating that it will offer Kraken Pro clients a streamlined approach to implementing trading ideas, allowing for efficient testing, optimization, and execution of customized strategies in real time. As part of the agreement, Capitalise.ai’s co-founders Amir Shiovich and Shahar Rabin, along with key engineering personnel, will transition to Kraken’s Pro business unit.
