Giggle Academy CZ Raises Over $1.3 Million From $GIGGLE Meme Coin
Edutech startup Giggle Academy, founded by Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, has raised over $1.3 million in donations in less than 12 hours. The project’s BNB Smart Chain address has a balance of 1,311 BNB, according to BscScan.
The lion’s share of the funding came from the newly launched $GIGGLE meme coin, created by user X under the nickname RUNE. The coin transfers BNB fees directly to Giggle Academy’s address, allowing it to quickly accumulate a significant amount.
How Giggle Fund Works
Giggle Fund has recorded nearly a thousand transactions in favor of Giggle Academy since its launch. According to DEX Screener, the daily trading volume reached $2.8 million, and the number of transactions increased by 470%.
CZ warned that any memecoins in the fund will be converted to more liquid altcoins, but RUNE clarified that the $GIGGLE model involves automatic collection of fees in BNB, so the token sale does not put pressure on the market.
Educational mission
Giggle Academy aims to provide free education for K-12 students, with an emphasis on finance, negotiation, blockchain and artificial intelligence. The concept paper states that traditional subjects — math, reading, writing, science — will also be included in the curriculum, while history and religion are excluded due to the risk of global disputes.
CZ has previously stated that its goal is to educate between 100 million and 1 billion children in the coming years, especially in poor and developing countries.
