Arthur Hayes Sells All of His HYPE for $800K

BitMEX Co-Founder Arthur Hayes has sold all of his Hyperliquid (HYPE) tokens, less than a month after predicting a 126x price increase in three years at the WebX conference in Tokyo.
According to Lookonchain, Hayes sold 96,628 HYPE for $823K at a profit of 19.2%. In his signature style, he explained the deal simply: “You need to put down a deposit for a new Ferrari 849 Testarossa.”
What’s happening with HYPE
HYPE, the native token of decentralized derivatives exchange Hyperliquid, was trading at $49.48, down 8% overnight but up 660% from its November 2024 launch at $6.51.
The platform saw a record trading volume of $3.4 billion in August, according to DefiLlama, up from $560 million at the start of the month.
Will Hayes return to HYPE
Hayes himself has not yet hinted whether he plans to buy HYPE again. At the same time, he continues to make loud predictions for the crypto market: he expects an “up only” phase after the US Treasury reaches its $850 billion target in the TGA account, and he also sees Bitcoin at $250,000 by the end of 2025.
Crypto-X users emphasize that it is worth looking not only at influencers’ forecasts, but also at their actual on-chain transactions.
